I came here to say that this looks like Belleville Rendezvous/Triplets of Belleville and I saw this comment, wondered if Chomet was the guy behind it, and now I know he was.

It's such a smooth animation style. And the landscape is dreamlike and still recognizable. This is European Ghibli style.

I think if most of us had more money than God, we'd spend our time funding art, helping others and building hospitals. Not tormenting the masses. Man, I hope this gets funded, revived and completed!

It's said to see project like these being canceled. I could imagine this movie being one of those underrated classic that didn't received much attention when it first came out, but as the years go by people start to recognize it more as a gem from animation history like other foreign films.

God, I will never stop loving quality 2D animation! I'm upset that this was cancelled, but not exactly surprised! I guess the suits expected Klaus to make billions, and when it didn't they pulled the plug on anything further from SPA....
