And as you say, the “flashy” male dinosaurs in the series are mostly bigger with maybe some extra hues here or there. Dudes afraid of color, just going with the Mesozoic equivalent of jeans and a tee.

Idk man maybes this isn't universal across all of em since I only really looked at various snakes and various pet sized lizards but aren't female reptiles generally bigger? Like idk man your body has to carry like 12 eggs or something you're gonna need more surface area for that
