Yes. You can (probably*) work for 90 days in Spain living in your home so long as you have some kind of UK business, then you can leave for a day returning for a further 90-in-180-days so long as during that period you don’t work.

The latter period could be anywhere in Schengen zone.

Of course two things would have avoided this mess for you:

1. if the withdrawal agreement had covered people like you.

2. if UK and EU had agreed on matching 6 month per visit per country visiting arrangements.
