Feels like a lost cause. The post-New Deal US isn't achievable anymore. Without significant change on the Supreme Court and a willingness by a future Dem senate majority to break the filibuster, even winning elections won't guarantee the government can undo the damage.

That's right, we don't. But I'd like to think that determined new leadership could build powerful new agencies less beholden to commercial interests and more supportive of Nature, science, and the American people.

Trump is the king of nihilism. His policies are all a direct reflection of his pathology, and affirmatively produce the least desirable result in each and every case- without exception or fail. He is the Enemy Within. He spends all his time breaking shit and planting landmines. He is moral Ebola.

2028 platform should have 2 prime targets:
- consequences for who is doing all of this
- new versions of what was cut - including WPA / CCC type stuff with real funding. greenfield approach if needed where some things might not have worked. Never get a better chance to build new orgs and infra

It will take 5-10 years.

The problem I see is do-nothing establishment Dems doing nothing after Trump is gone because they agree with most of the GOP's policies

Id say we’ll never know how long it would take because no one is going to do it. Not even close.
