Ive found that it does not matter what I say to my reps or senator, they are corrupt as fuck. Ive called every day left messages, followed scripts. They still did it. My only chance now is to vote them out or run against them myself..

Would you vote for a furry publicly?

i would trust a furry, i would not trust a rich old man.

Try spinning it as a conservative issue. Say that you want them to vote against it because it’d censor conservative ideologies. They’ll listen if it pertains to their confirmation bias and be tricked into voting blue.

If you can gather people who can help do what you want and are competent at it, or if you're pretty competent as is, the answer is yes.

Yup same. My reps are Cruz and Cornyn. Absolutely no point in contacting them because it won’t change what they do at all.

i mean just look at @elyon113.bsky.social

dude decided he had enough and ran entirely as his unabashed self, stoner fursuit and all and he's already gotten a lot of support

it may be worth a shot to run if you can, people absolutely want to see new faces especially if they can show they truly care

If I thought I had a snowballs chance in hell, I'd run. But I would also have to give up a govt career and pension to even try.

I hate John Joyce so much. His newsletters are infuriatingly tone deaf and Trumpy.

Someone on tiktok brought up the most genius thing and that's to ask them why do they want us to be like California? Apparently this has worked on their own and the way I wrote it down because it's so smart.

a kinda libertarian free speech and privacy angle could do it depending on your reps’ views. i don’t want the government in my business, don’t want big brother spying on me, etc

I've wondered about framing it as handing your ID over to log into a gun forum, and talking about your guns, would effectively become a national gun registry - which right wingers tend to historically not like the idea of

Or how "Dems can classify religion as obscene if they take power" etc

As stupid as my state govt tends to be and vile

I'm frequently surprised by the stances they do take.

I'm just glad they aren't here 😮‍💨

KIDS Act has to go to Rules Committee first before it goes to the floor.

Regardless, everyone should keep calling. I don't care if your Reps are on this list or who they are. Call every day and make them not want to bring it up.

We can win this still.

if they so care for children why not give them old button phones with 3g internet so they can only call and sms with parents and friends ?

Also, if they care so much about children, why have no arrests been made for those in the Epstein Files? Moreover, why do these bills look like what Epstein wanted, especially to make it harder for kids to speak out?

Is the spat between House and Senate versions of KOSA over 'duty of care' still going on?

To my knowledge, yes. I don't think this is even likely to go anywhere in the Senate since Ted Cruz is still in its way. For all of his many, many faults, he's been pretty consistently against this stuff.

ASAA isn’t in the package itself, thankfully it’s still a separate (and easy to kill) bill.

We also don’t have any indication yet Johnson will be bringing it to a floor vote anytime soon, with DHS funding and the Iran war now a problem, idk if he will.

Ok well maybe not exactly easy to kill, but it can be killed on its own.

Anyway uhh yeah still call your reps but also keep up with the most accurate info and don’t let dooming eat you alive.

Some time ago apparently he said he wouldn't let KOSA come back to the House floor and I added him in on my daily calls loop to remind him. It's something and better than nothing to make him feel pressure.
