BTW, as much as you folks try, we will not call and ask for the MIC. I'll continue asking for the person in charge 😉

And WSR-88D is “Weather Surveillance Radar, 1988, Doppler”.

I also use:

HT: handheld radio
Often use CEM, which can be County Emergency Management or Certified Emergency Management, respectively. Also “EMA”, which is the same thing.

VHF: Very High Frequency
HF: High Frequency
