At 23 (1956), she traveled solo to S. Africa to study giraffes. She spent up to 10 hours a day observing giraffes (>3,500 total hours of observation). Her story was largely forgotten until the 2018 documentary 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘴 brought her back into the spotlight. #WomenInSTEM
