@tdsb.on.ca IAQ retrofits and education similar to @bostonschools.boston.gov would pay for itself easily in one school year because teachers would be healthier (use fewer sick days).

Does Boston have use it or lose it sick days?

They have a similar sick day union contract that ON teachers once had but has since been grandfathered.

@bostonschools.boston.gov is the model for IAQ that ON must follow as soon as possible to support everyone with improved IAQ.

Er, teachers - ok, great. But what about the health of developing children too!

Precisely! The intent is to use the collective voice of teacher's unions to pressure the government to improve indoor air quality in all schools, while lowering class sizes.
This WILL help support the health & safety and learning needs of all children as well as teachers.

I love my state. We are not perfect but the state does do good work for their people. I simply cannot imagine living elsewhere.

Yup. Air quality retrofits are wildly important and they do indeed pay for themselves quickly.

Republicans hate indoor air quality or they would stop attacking and defunding things that try and improve it.

Well, god forbid we should do anything just to make people's lives better! No, it has to SAVE MONEY.

Demonstrating your sick day improvement by setting the baseline in a pandemic is problematic.

Not at all. The overuse of sick days by ON teachers is evident.
This directly correlates with the continued COVID pandemic. @bostonschools.boston.gov teachers use almost 100% fewer sick days per year than teachers in TDSB.
Why?
Cleaner indoor air & IAQ education funding/implementation by BPS.
