If so, that makes no sense; Snyder's point wasn't even relevant to Snyder's own argument. Say you answer the question: "Putin did - they were a false flag." Ok, so? We know it is possible for an evil government to do such things. That's obvious. "So Trump must be doing the same" doesn't follow.

Snyder just sort of waved in the direction of that idea, late in his thread. He didn't even really try to say it was a crucial point, it was just a way for him to imply that anyone who doesn't think his way is a naive rube who never heard of leaders doing bad things.
